Introduction

Tleukhanova Ainash held teaching practice in Secondary school № 34 in Karaganda in the department of foreign languages. During my teaching practice was held on 24 hours of English of the pupils of the fifth and sixth grade, and in the end I spent the crediting lessons and tests.

In front of me had the following objectives:

Attendance for practical acquaintance with the methods of teaching the language;

Test your knowledge of students in § 5, 6, 7;

Evaluation of written work of pupils;

Assistance in preparing for classes.

The main objectives of teaching practice:

1. Learn to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during the course «Analytical reading», «Methods of Teaching», «Education» and «Psychology».

2. Meet the Group, which was held teaching practice.

3. Study the level of knowledge of students.

4. Learn a variety of techniques and methods of teaching.

5. Establish and carry out monitoring work in the presence of a teacher to plan, discussed with the teaching practice.

6. Form a correct relationship with the students in the classroom and outside the classroom.

During a visit to class, I was watching the methods of teaching, which allowed me to have an idea of how you want to hold classes on the analytical reading.

Also, during my studies I found psychological contact with the group, which allowed me to learn the knowledge of each student. Through this I was able to build on lessons learned in the mode appropriate for the personal characteristics of each student. During all the period of practice, there were no conflicts. They worked seamlessly, at a good pace. Checks are applied: tests, oral questioning.

I believe that during practice I was able to perform my assigned tasks. Some mistakes were made by me due to lack of practice as a teacher. I would like to note that the head of my practice I have consulted on all issues that arose during the training practice, which has helped me to cope with the difficulties.

In each lesson, students trained skills both written and spoken language.

Overall, the percentage of student learning was about 90 percent.

Teaching practice is an important and exciting step in the study of language. It allows you to try out your skills and opportunities to transfer knowledge to students.

As educational material I used materials from the Internet and materials that I gave my head. Lessons consist of explanations of the new material, mostly lexical, conversational skills development, activation of individual performance.

During student teaching, I spent extracurricular activities.

Report on activities is presented below.

My Favourite Room

We live in a new 16-storeyed block of flats. It’s situated in a very picturesque place.

There’s a big supermarket on the ground floor and it’s very convenient to do everyday shopping. Our flat is on the fifth floor. It’s very comfortable and well-planned. We have all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, gas, cold and hot running water, and a telephone. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a hall in our flat. There’s also a balcony and we can enjoy a lovely view of the river.

The largest room in our flat is the living room, and we use it as a dining room, too. In the middle of the room there is a big table and six chairs around it. Opposite the

window there is a wall unit with lots of books, a TV-set, and a DVD-player.

There are two comfortable armchairs and a small coffee table in the right-hand corner.

There is also a sofa and an electric fire in our living room. We like our living room, so in the evenings we gather there to have tea, watch TV, talk, and rest.

Our kitchen is large and light. It is well-equipped. We have got a refrigerator, a freezer, a microwave oven, a coffeemaker, and a toaster. We haven’t got a dishwasher yet, because it is very expensive. But I’m sure we shall buy it in the nearest future.

My favourite room is the smallest room in our flat, but it is very cosy and light. There is a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, an armchair, and several bookshelves here. There is a thick carpet on the floor.

The walls in my room are light brown and there are some big posters on them. I like my room very much, but from time to time I change it round. I quite often move the bed and change the posters on the wall.

We have read and translated the text and write the new word in the vocabulary notebook.

We have reached the goal of the lesson

Lesson feedback:

Pupils told to last topic of their favorite room. It was very interesting to listen

to their arguments and motives of your favorite room. Then repeat new words. We passed a new topic «Our kitchen». Pupils read and translated the following text:

Our kitchen

My favourite room is our kitchen. Perhaps the kitchen is the most important room in many houses, but it is particularly so in our house because it’s not only where we cook and eat, but it’s also the main meeting place for the family and friends. I have so many happy memories of times spent there: special occasions such as homecomings, Christmas dinner, sitting down to read the newspaper with a steaming hot mug of coffee.

Whenever we have a party all, people go to the kitchen. It always ends up the fullest and noisiest room in the house.

So what does this special room look like? It’s quite big, but not huge. Its big enough to have a good-sized rectangular table in the centre. There is a large window above the sink, which looks out onto two apple trees in the garden. The cooker is at one end, and above it there is a wooden cupboard.

At the other end is a wall with a notice-board, which tells the story of our lives, past, present, and future, in words and pictures: a school photo of the children, a postcard from Auntie, the menu from Chinese restaurant, a wedding invitation for next Saturday. All our world is there for everyone to read!

All our friends come straight into the kitchen and join in whatever is happening there. The kettle goes immediately and then we all sit round the table, drinking tea.

Without doubt some of the happiest times of my life have been spent in our kitchen.

Then, each student told a little about their food. Students asked questions to the teacher and each other.

In general, our aim has been achieved. Some students do not have time to tell you about the kitchen. Pupils told to repeat new words on «My Home», «My Flat,» «My favorite room»,"Our kitchen". In the next lesson in the beginning of the lesson to be like 10 minutes of work on the knowledge of new words.

Lesson feedback:

All students 10 «A» class should have known 50 professions.

The teacher called the Russian occupation, and the students had to answer correctly in English. Pupils respond very well. In addition students must be correctly read and translate the new theme «My future profession.» Students practice pronunciation in the following text:

My future profession

Finishing school is the beginning of the independent life for millions of school leavers. Many roads are open before them: technical schools, institutes and universities. But it is not easy thing to choose a profession out of more than 2000 existing in the world?

Some pupils follow the advice of their parents, others can’t decide even after leaving school. As for me I have made choice long ago. I want to become a teacher of the Russian language and literature. My choice of this occupation didn’t come as a sudden flash. During all school years literature was my favorite subject. I’ve read a lot of books by Russian and foreign writers.

I understand that reading books helps people in self-education and in solving different life problems. I would like to teach my pupils to enjoy reading, to encourage them to learn our national language and literature, which is the source of national culture. It is known that teaching is a very specific and difficult job. It shouldn’t be taken easily. The teacher is a person who is learning as well as teaching all his life. Most jobs can be done within the usual office hours from 9 a. m. till 5 p. m., but teacher’s work is never done and evenings are usually spent in marking exercise-books and preparing for the next lesson.

Teachers do not only teach their subjects. They develop their pupils' intellect, form their views and characters, their attitudes to life and to other people. It’s a great responsibility and the teacher must be a model of competence himself. It’s not as easy as it may seem at first. But I think that love for children combined with the knowledge I’ll get at the University would be quite enough to succeed in my work. I’m applying to the philological department and I am sure my dream will come true sooner or later.

The lesson was interesting and our aim has been achieved. Kravchenko Anastasia and Elubaeva Aidan showed a deep knowledge of the English language The next lesson students were given the following tasks: to write an essay on «My future profession» and argue your choice.

The USA

1. General

The United States of America was formed by emigrants in 1382. The USA makes up of 62 states. Washington, the capital of the United States is situated on the Potomac River in the District of Columbia. The district is a piece of land which doesn’t belong to any state but to all the states. All these states are sovereignty.

2. Geographical position and physical features:

The USA occupy a large territory and are situated in the central and southern part of North America. The USA is washed by the Atlantic ocean in the east and by the Pacific ocean in the west. In the north, the USA has borders on Canada and in the south on Mexico. The USA is divided into three areas: Eastern area is a highland, central area is a plain and Western area is mountains including the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada. There are five great lakes in the northern part of the USA. There are: Huron, Michigan, Supireo, Ontario and Erie. They are connected by fast rivers. There is the most famous to the whole world fall called Niagara Fall. Mississippi together with its tributary Missouri is the longest river in the world.

3. Climate:

Mountain ranges cross the country from north to south and don’t protect it against cold air from the north and warm one from the south. The USA has a continental climate.

4. National Economy.

The USA is a highly developed industrial country. Large reserves of oil, coal, iron and other minerals are solid base of development of Americans industry. Heavy industry prevails in USA, including such branches as the mining, metallurgical, engineering, chemical and high-tech industries. USA has also well-developed light industry which includes textile, tanning and footwear industries. The food industry is well developed too. Both animal husbandry and farming takes big place in the economy of the USA.

Under the Constitution, the federal government is divided into three branches. The Congress is vested with the legislative power and made up of two houses: the Senate and the House of Representatives. There are 435 members in the House of Representatives and 100 senators. Each state elects two members of the Senate. The executive branch is headed by the President, who proposes bills to Congress, serves as commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. The President is chosen in nation-wide elections every 4 years. The second person in executive branch is vice President. The vice President, elected from the same political party as the President The judicial branch consists of Federal District Courts, 11 Federal Courts and the Supreme Court. Federal judges are appointed by the President. Federal courts decide cases involving federal law, conflicts between citizens of different states. Constitution is the most important document in the USA. Constitution has been amended 26 times. The Bill of Rights guarantees individual liberties: freedom of speech, religion and so on.

Dusova Gulnur Tokelovna gave the following homework: talk verbally about the beautiful U. S. locations.

Theme of the lesson was quite difficult and I think the students managed. The teacher works more than twenty years and has great experience. So I pay attention to the methodology of teaching Dusova G. T during practice.

Lesson feedback:

During this lesson the teacher has been using three forms of the organization of educational activity: face-to face, individual and pair works. She also applied such methods as: visual and verbal. From way of methodical aspect of the lesson we could note an optimum correlation of the different kinds of activity (writing, inverse translation, circumspect reading of the text and answers to the questions).

It was the second lesson by this theme. The lesson has begun from the checking homework. At home pupils have done two exercises. For the purpose of increasing efficiency of the lesson the teacher used both individual and differentiated forms of the work. The teacher selected the tasks on actualization of basic knowledge and abilities for applying it in a new situation and for independent theoretical judgment. For the messaging of the new material the teacher used such method as an explanation. Pupils read and translated the texts, worked with the cards, used an interactive board.

At the lesson there was cooperation atmosphere. Therefore achievement of favorable result was excellent. At the lesson teacher has made the conditions of oral speech for development an informative function of speaking. But teacher did not use a monologues because would take a lot of time and other pupils would lose an interest.

For the organization of the homework the teacher has applied differentiated approach for the strong pupils were given the creative tasks and other pupils were given tasks for repeating. The working capacity of pupils was on a high level. In the end of the lesson the purpose were reached.

Firstly the teacher drew attention of the pupils by constant asking of the class and comments. The preference was given to arbitrary and after arbitrary attention. Pupils watched closely the lesson process (looked at the teacher, on a blackboard and gave answers in time). The lesson basically lent on acoustical perception: speech of the teacher constantly sounded in English. Orientation to visual perception was used sometimes: on a blackboard, pictures and cards. For the best organization of perception the teacher always accurately and loudly pronounced the text, paid attention of the pupils to the key moments in drawing up of English phrases. If pupils could not translate the phrase the teacher gave translation in Russian. For the organization of effective remembering the rules has been used set of the examples. And also many comments have been given for it. Pupils which were being at a blackboard explained why they have translated a basic fragment anyhow. As to cogitative operations basically they concerned applications of already learnt rules to specific proposals, that was the phrase analysis, comparison of a structure of the given phrase with already known and synthesis. Time has been used effectively enough, the teacher has had time to spend all stages which had planned.

Attentiveness of the teacher to each pupil was except of some of them who did not listen to her.
